GovernmentCIO is looking for an experienced Agile/SAFe Coach and SAFe Program Consultant to join our Agile Transformation team at the Department of Veteran Affairs. This is a highly challenging role focused on business process reengineering, gap analysis, process improvement, and most importantly, defining SOPs that work for our clients and their partners.
The individual must have a proven track record of training and transforming teams and programs to fully implement Agile (Scrum or SAFe). The position alternates between virtual and on-site workdays, thus the individual must possess exceptional communication and meeting facilitation skills, in-person and virtual.
The day to day role will be dynamic, addressing multiple customer priorities. The overall focus will be on leading transformation of software product delivery practices by coaching Program teams in Agile methods. This candidate may also work as a lead coach or in project management/deputy program management roles, so experience managing teams of professionals is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have experience at the Department of Veterans Affairs as well as experience leading Agile Transformation at a large enterprise. Experience delivering Scrum Master and Leading SAFe courses is also desirable.
This individual will support a high performing VA PMO Team performing state of the art software development, coordinating activities across multiple program teams, documenting and facilitating meetings, publishing meeting minutes, tracking action items to resolution, and updating/maintaining calendars and schedules across the project. You will be expected to become the Subject Matter Expert in your Areas of Responsibility. You must understand the technical details of your lane and use your knowledge to identify potential schedule, implementation or deployment impacts in advance, notify the VA PMO of the potential issues and provide recommended corrective actions when possible, and finally to track the action to resolution, becoming an extension of the VA PMO Team.
Coordination of activities across the different functional areas and technologies will require excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and a detailed understanding of the technologies being implemented in order to properly monitor, facilitate and document the activities and related communications. You will be involved in project management, traffic management, delivery coordination and documentation approvals with the technical and business teams as well as partner organizations. Your analytical skills and observations will support Business Analysts, Technical Analysts Architects and Development Leads as requirements are evolved and satisfied.
