Overview

GovernmentCIO is seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong leadership, technical and communication skills.  A qualified candidate must have experience with diverse IT projects both large and small, must be able to work directly with a broad and diverse leadership group to gain consensus, prioritize initiatives and move an organization toward a set of common objectives and outcomes.  The candidate must be well versed in agile delivery processes, enterprise wide network engineering, strategic information planning, business process reengineering, manage cost, schedule, performance, be able to multi-task across a broad range of activities, guide service direction, manage iterative delivery, and ensure all services meet defined goals.

 

This 100% remote telework position requires candidates to demonstrate excellent communications and coordination skills as well as superior task ownership capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • As VETPS Project Manager for Technology Platform Services Infrastructure Operations, you will be asked to perform the following support functions:

    • Effectively lead and manage a Bimodal IT strategy
    • Support IO-as-a-Service Project (Mode 1 definition of Products/Services)
    • Develop Mode 2 Digital Modernization Plan (in conjunction with Hosting Modernization Team)
    • Drive process improvements (e.g. automation flows, SLA/ improvements)
    • Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching driving Product Line Management efforts, SAFe best practices and, DevSecOps integration and tooling.
    • Interface with internal and Government management personnel, provide thought leadership, manage implementation and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific /technical discipline
  • Minimum Years of Experience Required: 15 years related experience
  • Prefer candidates with the following skills/knowledge:
    • Proven leadership experience in Agile environments and in IT delivery while building and sustaining high performing teams
    • Proven ability to decompose requirements, understand the full development life cycle, and work with subject matter experts to form a complete roadmap and backlog
    • Consistently ensure business is always conducted with integrity and that behavior aligns with GovernmentCIO policies, procedures, and core competencies
    • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with varying seniority levels
    • Be able to provide thought leadership and effectively influence or help guide the IO-as-a-Service project accordingly
    • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent writing and communication skills
    • Proficient with MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
