GovernmentCIO is seeking a Datacenter technical lead who would serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) that provides data center, virtual infrastructure (Azure), network, and communications technical leadership, guidance and recommendations; perform reviews of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) deliverables; develop and maintain data center virtual infrastructure, network, and communications documentation and artifacts; and provide input to the IAM software/systems architect team.
The Datacenter Technical Lead must possess specialized technical knowledge and experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud Environment Infrastructure designs and efficiency. This individual will be part of an Operations consulting team that assists the VA Government Data Center Manager in deciding on recommended technical solutions to data center operations issues. The candidate must work closely with the Data Center government, PMO, and Operation and Maintenance staff to: create and distribute tailored views of the Azure footprint; plan and execute infrastructure changes.
The Datacenter Technical Lead must also work in concert with other Technical Leads and Operations and Maintenance vendors to improve infrastructure design to meet service level agreements, satisfy business and consumer expectations/requirements. Finally, the candidate will monitor Data Center Infrastructure stability and proactively recommend changes to achieve the desired results given the solution constraints.
The responsibilities include:
o Review disk space, memory, storage, and server performance report deliverables and proactively make recommendations for change.
o Perform monthly Server Planning Sheet Technical Reviews (for all VHIC and AcS environments) and proactively make recommendations for change.
o Develop presentations, diagrams, and documents to communicate data center/Azure/infrastructure capabilities
o Guide and advise IAM Operations and Maintenance teams in environment infrastructure health alert monitoring and provide assessments as requested by the Data Center Manager.
o Conduct technical reviews of monthly patching plan and ensure adherence to patching processes and procedures each month.
o Certificate (i.e., SSL) Expiration Management tools
o System administration detailed dashboards
o Executive-level systems health dashboards (i.e. developed for SharePoint)
o Create Network Connectivity Diagrams as directed to include boundaries and scope
o Author, update, and maintain between 8-10 (current and to-be-created) DEV and SQA lab SOP’s.
o Periodically review and approve vendor SOP’s
o Identity, Access Management and SSO products/protocols such as:
o Monitoring tools such as:
o Other Devices/technology
o ServiceNow (trouble ticketing API and automatic ticket generation)
o Tenable Nessus functionality
o Security remediation
o Change Control Board processes
o SharePoint & Visio
The Datacenter Technical Lead must have:
