    GovernmentCIO is currently looking for an EDI Developer to join our team supporting the Financial Services Center at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Austin, TX.


    As an EDI Developer you will be responsible for the following:

    1. Create new or update X12 translation mapping in current legacy systems (server / mainframe). Including, but not limited to:
      1. Financial – 810, 811, 850/855, 860/865, 842, 856, 832, 820
      2. Medical – 835, 837, 277, 270/271, 278
    2. Build new, or update existing Implementation Guides as needed.
    3. Team member in transitioning from legacy mainframe EDI system to new platform.


    The EDI candidate should have the following skills:

      • A minimum of 3 years direct experience working with ANSI X12 translation and solution architecture.
      • A minimum of 8 years direct experience with object oriented program languages. .Net preferred, but Java experience would be a plus.
      • Strong working knowledge of X12 standards, versions and their implementation.
        • Transaction sets must include: 810, 850, 855, 860,865, 214, 856, 835, 837
        • Additional transaction sets: 811, 824, 832, 277, 278, 270, 271
      • Strong understanding of HIPAA, PCI-DSS, PHI.
      • Strong working knowledge of SQL/Oracle databases. (Cosmos DB would be a plus)
        • Stored procedures, views, etc...
      • Strong understanding of Message Queuing Services (RabbittMQ is preferred)
      • Experience with Azure or AMS (Azure is preferred)
      • Understanding of HIPAA and how it integrates with X12.
      • Understanding of mainframe architecture and processing a plus
      • Understanding of Microservices is a plus
      • Knowledge of XML, HL7, FHIR and JSON preferred
      • Knowledge of SFTP, SCP, FTP, HTTP communications
      • Knowledge of AS2, HL7 MLLP, JMS, AMQP, PGP and other encryption types are a plus.
