  • Overview

    GovernmentCIO is currently looking for an Enterprise Architect to support one of our government clients.  The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of IT architecture models and their lower level components. They are also required to interpret, use and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT support systems


    The EA will provide:

    • IT Strategy development, maintenance and monitoring including strategic road mapping across the IT Portfolio.
    • EA Definition and Maintenance including establishment and maintenance of standards such as technology “bricks”, design patterns, controlled vocabularies and user interface standards.
    • Solution architecture guidance through direct, sprint by sprint engagement with development teams and the Infrastructure Services Branch (ISB).
    • Solution Architecture review and approval at Design, Release Planning, Test Readiness, and Operational Readiness Reviews.
    • Recommendation and execution of processes for AoA and Market Research for products and services to be acquired, including measurable success criteria and user engagement plans.
    • Development and maintenance of Enterprise Data Models and Web Service Specifications.
    • Establishment and publication of a set of controlled vocabularies for use within the NHLBI, including a general glossary of terms, and specific vocabularies/ontologies for scientific concepts that draw on standard vocabularies such as MeSH and UMLS.
    • Design, build and implement enterprise-class systems for a production environment
    • Align standards, frameworks with overall business and technology strategy
    • Create solutions that balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements
    • Identify design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
    • Use current programming language and technologies to writes code, complete programming and performs testing and debugging of applications
    • Train users in implementation or conversion of systems


    Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

    Years of Experience: 10+ Years
