    GovernmentCIO is seeking a Developer to join a Scrum team for a .NET project with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The candidate will work collaboratively with the VA Product Owner, VA stakeholders, and the contractor Development Team to enhance and sustain the customized .NET/SharePoint application. The candidate will be a proactive, forward-leaning self-starter able to work in a fast-paced Agile environment. This role is ideal for a new graduate looking to expand their IT and development experience. 

    Responsibilities

    The Developer will be responsible for:

    • Working with a Scrum development team comprised of .NET and SharePoint Tool developers, automation testers, and analysts
    • Cross-collaborating with one or multiple Scrum teams working on the .NET/SharePoint application
    • Providing high-quality solutions to implement, release, and maintain features, defects, and other backlog items for the VIP SharePoint Tool based on requirements provided the VA Product Owner and stakeholders
    • Leverage experience in full stack (UI, web services, and SQL Server) application web development

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree
    • 0-2 years of hands-on customized .NET and SharePoint development using Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, jQuery, Microsoft SQL Server, and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services
    • Knowledge of the Agile methodology and frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, or XP
    • Experience with unit testing
    • Experience in providing guidance, recommendations, and implementation for features and enhancements of .NET and SharePoint applications
    • Ability to effectively communicate with development and client staff on a daily basis
    • Ability to analyze, independently research/troubleshoot technical issues, provide alternatives, and recommend solutions
    • Experience working with at least one the following Agile tools: IBM Rational (RM, CM, QM), CA Rally, JIRA, VersionOne, or ServiceNow
    • Ability to obtain a Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) clearance

    Desired Qualifications 

    • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree
    • Experience with Telerik Kendo UI
    • Experience with developing reports using tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or other industry recognized reporting or Business Intelligence tools
    • Microsoft Azure development experience and certifications
    • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs web-development projects
