  • Overview

    GovernmentCIO is seeking a Junior Automation Tester to join a Scrum team for a .NET/SharePoint project with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The candidate will work collaboratively with the VA Product Owner, VA stakeholders, and the contractor Development Team to enhance and sustain the customized .NET/SharePoint application. The candidate will be a proactive, forward-leaning self-starter able to work in a fast-paced Agile environment. This role is ideal for a new graduate looking to expand their IT and development experience. 


    The Automation Tester will be responsible for:

    • Working with a Scrum development team comprised of .NET and SharePoint Tool developers, automation testers, and analysts
    • Cross-collaborating with one or multiple Scrum teams working on the .NET/SharePoint application
    • Providing high-quality solutions to implement, release, and maintain features, defects, and other backlog items for the VIP SharePoint Tool based on requirements provided the VA Product Owner and stakeholders


    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree
    • 0 - 2 years of test automation experience using Java, Eclipse Java IDE, Java Development Kit (JDK), Selenium WebDriver, and Maven
    • Knowledge of the Agile methodology and frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, or XP
    • Experience with multiple types of testing, including integration, functional, API, regression, and performance/load testing
    • Experience with automating UI and web services for web-based applications
    • Experience with developing test plans, cases, scenarios, and scripts for web-based applications
    • Experience with Section 508 compliance testing and testing tools
    • Ability to effectively communicate with development and client staff on a daily basis
    • Ability to analyze, independently research/troubleshoot technical issues, provide alternatives, and recommend solutions
    • Ability to work effectively with programmers and other IT staff and non-IT functional areas
    • Experience working with at least one the following Agile tools: IBM Rational (RM, CM, QM), CA Rally, JIRA, VersionOne, or ServiceNow
    • Ability to obtain a Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) clearance


    Desired Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree
    • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs web-development projects
    • Experience with C#
