    GovernmentCIO is looking an Agile Coach to support development projects within small and medium sized organizations within a Federal Agency. The Coach will be part of a new Agile Program Management Office (PMO) but will work side by side with project teams to help introduce and improve Agile practices. The Coach will assist in easing the organizational cultural transition from the established Federal hierarchical structures and processes to Agile culture and practices.

     

    This is a high-visibility role focused on business process reengineering, gap analysis, process improvement, and most importantly, defining SOPs that work for our clients and their partners. The individual must have a proven track record of training and transforming teams and programs to fully implementing Agile (Scrum or SAFe).

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze current project delivery and governance processes to identify pain points, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
    • Develop goals/training plans for individual projects
    • Coach teams on Agile fundamentals and help them implement Agile ceremonies (e.g. Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, etc.)
    • Help teams identify the and understand Agile roles, and manage the respective artifacts
    • Assist with tasks such as defining Definition of Done, User Story estimation, and relative sizing
    • Identify, implement, and track metrics.
    • Coach the team in achieving Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment and Delivery.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • At least 7 years of experience working in a software development shop as either a PM, BA, Developer, Tester, DBA, System Administrator or a combination of these roles.
    • Minimum 3 years working in a pure Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, DevOps), with at least 2 years of actively coaching and transitioning teams, programs, and portfolios
    • Experience with providing presentations to virtual and in person teams
    • Proven leadership experience in IT delivery, building and sustaining high performing teams
    • An effective communicator skilled in conflict resolution - exceptional soft skills are essential

    Preferred:

    • Experience working with MSP Online and Office 365
    • Experience working with at least one Agile tool (e.g. CA Rally, JIRA, VerionOne)
    • Agile coaching/facilitation certified
    • DevOps certified with at least 2 years of experience implementing the methodology
    • Experience in Scaled Agile (SAFe or Scrum at Scale)
    • Experience with Agile in a Federal environment
    • Management Consulting experience
    • Scrum Master Certification (CSM or SAFe Scrum Master) is required; Scaled Agile (e.g. SAFe Agilist) Certification is desired.
