    This individual will support the VA PMO Team contacting individuals and teams, coordinating activities across multiple program teams, documenting and facilitating meetings, publishing meeting minutes, tracking action items to resolution, and updating/maintaining calendars and schedules across the project.

     

    Coordination of activities across the different functional areas and technologies will require excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and a moderate technical understanding of the technologies being implemented in order to properly facilitate and document the communications and activities. Involved in project management, traffic management, delivery coordination and documentation approvals with the partners.

    Responsibilities

    The Project Manager will:

    • Plan, coordinate, facilitate and document meetings, discussions, and documentation across multiple project/program.
    • Update SharePoint, Rational and other VA tools with the applicable information
    • Consult and Inform the primary program on all communication so that they are aware of the status and results of these interactions.
    • Responsible for identifying Issues as soon as they occur so they can be dealt with before becoming a critical issue
    • Must have experience in tracking costs, schedule, and performance progress
    • Must be able to identify and mitigate risks to the program
    • Must be able to manage to cost, schedule, and performance
    • Demonstrate experience successfully managing disparately located (remote) personnel
    • Demonstrate and have current experience managing programs with complex data processing requirements
    • Must be able to use qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of the operations
    • Identifying symptoms for process improvement
    • Possess analytical and investigation skills
    • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision
    • Must be strong communicator, be great with people, build trust and confidence with partners

    Qualifications

    • PMP, ITILv3, CSM are desirable
    • Well versed in the VA Veteran-Focused Integration Process (VIP) project management methodology, and VA in general
    • Expertise with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype, Project, Visio and SharePoint).
    • Experience with Rational (RM, CM & QM), GitHub and other Configuration Management tools
    • Familiarity with Data Management tools (Microsoft PowerBI, Oracle tools) is beneficial
    • Present a self-assured presence on phone and in-person communications
    • Experience in PMP and Agile Methodologies
    • Bachelors in engineering, computer science or business. Eight years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education requirement.
    • 10+ years of experience required
