  • Overview

    GCIO is seeking a candidate for the position of Project Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Enterprise Services who is well versed in the VA’s Veterans-focused Integration Process (VIP) project management methodology.


    The Project Manager will support two new projects by:

    • Tracking costs, schedule, performance progress and other project metrics
    • Identifying symptoms for process improvement and mitigating risks to the program
    • Facilitating meetings including capturing meeting minutes
    • Assisting with supporting documentation with a clear understanding of IT technical jargon
    • Tracking action items for both projects and discuss on weekly meetings
    • Being prepared to spend 4 to 6 hours per week in meetings (both projects combined)
    • Preparing of executive briefing slides (weekly)


    Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Computer Science, or Business preferred)

    Years of Experienced Required: 10+

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Must be well versed in the VA's Veterans-focused Integration Process (VIP) project management methodology
    • Demonstrate strong experience leading large, multi-personnel IT-related projects
    • Experience interacting with senior leadership
    • Responsible for on-time completion of all deliverables 
    • Demonstrate experience successfully managing disparately located (remote) personnel
    • Demonstrate and have current experience managing programs with complex data processing requirements
    • Must be able to use qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of the operations
    • Possess analytical and investigation skills
    • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision
    • Must have strong stakeholder management capabilities 
    • Must be able to juggle multiple meetings and stakeholders at one time
    • Must have experience creating presentations to communicate information effectively, often for senior leadership audiences
    • Experience coordinating and facilitating meetings with various teams and stakeholders
