Overview

GovernmentCIO is looking for a Cloud Architect to join the Enterprise Services contract supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs.  The Lead Senior Cloud Specialist will support the Enterprise Services and Cloud Support Initiatives for the Department of Veterans Affairs. We're looking for someone with at least 15 years’ experience leading IT teams and advising senior government clients on Information Technology related projects. Must be well versed in life cycle and project management methodologies. Must have experience in tracking costs, schedule and performance progress. Must be able to identify and mitigate risks. Provide assessments, recommendations, and develop implantation plans for enterprise level projects related to infrastructure and cloud-based systems. Provide research and consulting expertise using the following products and systems.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 15 or more years IT experience
  • Experience with modern cloud technologies such as infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, and software as a service (e.g., 5 more years)
  • Expert-level (e.g., 10 or more years) experience in planning, directing, and managing projects/operations involving assessments and planning for enterprise IT projects.
  • Expert-level experience (e.g., 10 or more years) in environment management and operations;
  • Expert-level experience (e.g., 10 or more years) of industry accepted standards and best practices related to operations and maintenance;
  • Expert-level experience (e.g., 10 or more years) of modern solution development techniques and test principles, processes, and procedures;
  • Expert-level experience (e.g., 10 or more years) of experience systems engineering and IT solution delivery.
  • Experience (e.g., 5 or more years) in equipment and logistics management to include tracking, acquisition, configuration, operations, and disposition of hardware and software;
  • Experience (e.g., 5 or more years) with government acquisitions;
  • 10 or more years of experience providing assessments and making recommendations for enterprise level programs;
  • 5 or more years IT experience in Government;
  • Possess or be capable of maintaining a Public Trust security clearance

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant technical courses of study, certifications, professional writing courses, and other training related to any aspect of proposal development or proposal management will be considered in addition to or in lieu of an academic degree.
  • ITIL certification or training preferred
  • AWS or Microsoft Cloud related certification highly desirable
